The SEE Alliance held a “We Deserve Better†rally before TuesdayÃÛ·èÖ±²¥ Sarasota County School Board meeting. Many opposed the approval of a classical charter school in the district.
SARASOTA — Complaints of a proposed new charter school were heard in and outside of the Sarasota County School Board room Tuesday night, with many residents and protesters asking board members to vote against the for-profit school.
The board ultimately voted 4-1 for the approval of the charter application by Charter School USA, with Tom Edwards dissenting over a multitude of “unanswered†questions for the charter school .
