More than 60 Sarasota County residents came forward to speak Tuesday, stretching the public comment portion of the board meeting to nearly three hours.

SARASOTAÌý— The Sarasota County School Board held its first meeting of the year, with more than 60 residents giving public comment that lasted three hours.

Public concerns ranged from Venice High School parking issues, book banning, to the ongoing drama involving School Board member Bridget ZieglerÌý— again receiving demands that she resign with others giving her appreciation for her staying on the board.
